Float Therapy in Castle Rock, CO
Ever wonder what it would be like to float through outer space? Now is your chance, thanks to the science and innovation of float pods.
Flotation Therapy, as in Flotation R.E.S.T. (Restricted Environmental Stimulation Therapy), has skyrocketed in recent years for the simple fact that it works. As our lives become busier and more hectic, most of us are looking for a way to relax, disconnect, and recharge. Floating satisfies that need comfortably and effortlessly. Plus, it provides a wide range of physical, emotional, and cognitive benefits.
What is a Float Pod?
A float pod is a man-made pod that houses a shallow pool of water filled with hundreds of pounds of Epsom salt. Most float centers still use 50-year-old technology where the same water is reused over and over. Not us. Our premium floatation pod offers 100% water removal and complex filtration between each session for cleanliness and peace of mind.
How does it work?
The combination of water and Epsom salt creates a 30% magnesium solution denser than the Red Sea and heated to the temperature of your skin. As a result, you’ll float comfortably and effortlessly on the surface, eliminating stress on your bones, muscles, and organs. After a few minutes, you’ll lose the sensation of the separation between your body and the solution. After about thirty minutes, your brain switches from beta waves to theta waves, similar to what happens during deep meditation.
What are the Benefits?
While in the deep meditative state, your brain empties of all extraneous thoughts and your mental slate is refreshed. After the session, your body will feel lighter, healthier, and detoxified. Your mind will feel clearer and more focused—like you just took an incredible nap. Additional benefits include:
Frequently Asked Questions
People have been floating for over 40 years. A quick Google search will show you all kinds of published research that can attest to the benefits.
Eat a light meal about 90 minutes prior to settle your stomach. Refrain from shaving or waxing the day of your session. The salt water may irritate raw skin. Do not consume caffeinated beverages like coffee beforehand as they jitter your system, making it difficult to relax.
Every float room is completely private, and we provide everything you need, including towels, robes, slippers, earplugs, body wash, shampoo & conditioner, lotion, Q-tips, cotton balls, and hairdryers. If you have longer hair, you may want to bring a comb. If you wear contact lenses, bring your case. You go into your float pod nude, so don’t worry about a bathing suit.
People with extreme claustrophobia have reported having no problems in our pods as the experience is more like floating in outer space than being shut inside a box. Plus, you are always in control of your session and can leave at any time.
Not at all. There are no latches on the pod doors, so you can get out at any time. However, the recommended time of 60 minutes usually flies by.
Nope. In fact, your skin won’t even prune. It will feel silky-soft afterwards.
The water is so buoyant that you have no choice but to stay afloat. Some people fall asleep and get woken up with salt water in their eyes. That’s the worst that can happen.
Not here. Double-wide tanks do exist, but in our experience, they take away from the whole “sensory deprivation” thing. We do, however, have three single pods, so feel free to invite two friends and make it a party.
We won’t stop you, but we can’t guarantee that the salt won’t strip some of the new hair color. We recommend observing in the shower at home to make sure rinse water is clear. If there is color washing out, wait a few days before floating.
Sure can. Just take the same measures you would before swimming in a pool.
Absolutely. There is even a position you can assume to relieve the weight of the baby off your body. Talk to a physician before floating if you are in your third trimester or have other pregnancy concerns.
Hygiene is our top priority—so yes. In fact, we chose the Premium Floating Tank System by Float Spa for that very reason. Our pods have an external water reservoir, so the water from each pod is emptied, cleaned, and treated by two filters, an automatic chemical dowser, and UV light sanitation between sessions. Plus, one of our employees will manually clean the inside of each pod before the salt water re-enters for the next floater.
If you are susceptible to vertigo or motion sickness, you might experience dizziness while floating. Tell one of our employees beforehand and we can customize your session with sound and lights to mitigate discomfort.
